Our Purpose

We want to provide equality and fairness for Aboriginal people so they can receive appropriate holistic care that will help them stay at home.

About Booraja Home Care

Booraja Home Care was developed through a collaborative partnership between IRT Foundation and the Walbanga community in the Eurobodalla region of NSW. The program is funded by a $1.4 million grant from the Dementia and Aged Care Services Innovation Funding Round awarded to IRT Group in 2017.

Using this funding, the IRT Foundation team were able to work with the Walbanga community to customise IRT’s home care services, fitting the needs of Aboriginal Elders.

Meet the Team

Booraja Home Care is run by local Aboriginal people from Batemans Bay. We recruit and train younger Aboriginal people to provide support to our Elders. Whilst our Care Workers provide support to our Elders, our Elders share knowledge and wisdom with the team. Through mob looking after mob, we are keeping our culture alive for generations to come.
